Venezuela Declares Readiness to Repel Any U.S. Attacks
“We will fight if you dare to set foot in Venezuela,” Padrino Lopez stated firmly in a message disseminated by state-controlled media.
He accused the U.S. of imposing a siege designed to foment internal unrest and destabilize Venezuela’s political leadership.
Describing recent American naval deployments in Caribbean waters, the defense chief said, “The announcement of these naval deployments in Caribbean waters is nothing more than a show of force, a way of marking territory, so that other powers will not take control of the Caribbean Sea.”
Following President Nicolas Maduro’s directive to bolster the Bolivarian National Militia, Venezuela’s armed forces have increased patrols along maritime borders and airspace, according to Padrino Lopez.
